Chiru should learn from Vijaykanth!

There have been tremendous political comparisons between chiranjeevi and Vijaykanth who have started their own Parties as best alternative to existing TDP, Congress and DMK, AIADMK in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu respectively. Although chiranjeevi is Numero Uno actor wise, same is not the case with Vijaykanth.

Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) is the Party established by Vijaykanth in 2005 has won just one Assembly seat in 2006 elections. Yet Vijaykanth worked constructively till 2011 elections wherein he allied with Jayalalitha’s AIADMK which is to get into power with superb majority. By this Vijaykanth was successful in winning 29 seats in this elections, a superb increase of 28 seats in a gap of just single election. On the other side, position of chiranjeevi and Praja Rajyam Party is very much known to our Telugu voters.

‘This is the victory of people and party cadres,’ said Vijaykanth confirming that he would not be demanding a share in power from AIADMK in the next government. Clear that Chiru can learn too many political lessons from ‘Leader’ Vijaykanth.

Announce T or TPJAC will ban Congress, TDP leaders: Kodandaram

Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (tpjac) convenor Prof Kodandaram on Saturday revealed that the tpjac Steering Committee has resolved not to allow any Congress and Telugu Desam Party leader to visit Telangana districts if the Centre does not announce a separate state by June 1.

Talking to media persons after emerging out of Steering Committee meeting held at AV College in Domalguda, Prof Kodandaram warned that the JAC would intensify its agitation for Telangana if the Centre not makes stand clear on Telangana state by June 1.

He said the Congress has delayed the announcement on Telangana while the TDP has adopted an ambivalent stand on separate statehood demand.

Stating that the future course of agitation yet to be discussed, Prof Kodandaram said the JAC will chalk out plans that would mount pressure on Centre.

Before announcing the future agitations, the JAC would conduct divisional level talks with district leaders by May end, he said.

Protesting against the police firing on villagers of Sompeta in Srikakulam against establishment of thermal power plant, Prof Kodandaram said the tpjac will organize a massive convention in Hyderabad on May 16 to express solidarity to the agitation.

The Telangana protagonist added that the tpjac will celebrate Buddha Jayanthi at Badaragatti in Adilabad district in a grand manner. A massive public meeting will be organized at Mahabubabad on May 28, revealed.

Prof Kodandaram disclosed that the JAC will extend solidarity to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s convention `Telanganaporu’, to be held on May 31 in Karimnagar district.

According to sources, the Steering Committee meeting witnessed a sour note when Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao expressed his displeasure over some tpjac members attending the Telangana Sadhana organized by Telugu Desam Telangana Legislators Forum convenor Nagam Janardhan Reddy at Nagarkurnool in Mahabubnagar district.

“What efforts had Mr Janardhan Reddy made for Telangana state that the tpjac members had attended his Telangana Sadhana? KCR is reported to have asked.

He also advised tpjac leaders to shift their office from Telangana TDP MLA Errabelli Dayakara Rao’s quarters. It is not good for the office to be continued at the quarters allotted to a TDP MLA as TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu has not made his stand clear on Telangana, KCR is reported to have said.

KCR said that he was ready to pay the rent if the tpjac shifts it office to another building.

He also advised JAC leaders to rebut the charges of TDP and Congress leaders against him effectively.

The meeting was attended by Medak MP Vijayashanthi, district leaders and party workers.

Comedian tried Pawan's Lip Kiss trick

Pawan Kalyan who is normally considered as a shy guy has kept his inhibitions a side to lock the lips with Trisha in ‘Teen Maar.’ This is first time in recent times that a middle aged star hero tried such stint on screen. Call it an inspiration from Pawan for young heroes to go all out and ‘Allari’ Naresh responded to the call. Yes, there is a scene in ‘Seema Tapakai’ where this comedian hero has demonstrated a soft lip kiss with heroine Poorna.

Although it is not necessary for movies like ‘Seema Tapakai’ to attempt such exciting counters but thanks to director Nageshwar Reddy’s taste and openness of heroine Poorna for such scenes. Surely this lip kiss hasn’t got the publicity required and it would be in better interest of producers to concentrate on promotion of ‘Seema Tapakai’ using this romantic touch.

Ragini MMs Movie Review

Directed by: Pawan Kripalani
Produced by: Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor
Screenplay and Story by: Pawan Kripalani, Vaspar Dandiwala
Starring: Kainaz Motivala, Raj Kumar Yadav

Rating: ***1/2

Ragini MMS is the story of Ragini who goes to an isolated bungalow along with boyfriend Uday Jhala to spend the coming weekend. Ragini is ignorant about the fact that her boyfriend’s intentions are to make a sex tape out of their union through the hidden cameras in the bungalow. However the moment Ragini and Uday come closer some paranormal activities (pun intended) start taking place.

Though the script of this film is not that solid, still possibly inspired from Stephen King’s novel Gerald’s Game and Hollywood film “Paranormal Activity” Ragini MMS of one and half hours completely manages to deliver the horror quotient. The movie has phenomenal sound effects, which will definitely startle you in the horror scenes. Second half is fast, however the extra use of camera shakes and audio-visual breaks seems unnecessary.

On the cinematography front, it looks completely inspired from Love Sex Aur Dhokha which was also produced by Ekta Kapoor and was a sex tape story only.

In lead roles both Kainaz Motivala and Raj Kumar Yadav have performed really well. Ragini MMS is a good mix of sex and horror, however I advise you to watch it only if you do not have a problem with bold scenes and bold dialogues (wouldn’t call it a family movie, besides guys at censor department share similar sentiments, Ragini MMS is an A certificate film).

Overall, Ragini MMS is a good film, and a must watch if you have been wanting to watch a horror movie since long and negative reviews about Haunted 3D forced you to decide otherwise, we at FilmiTadka give it 3.5 out of 5 stars. By the way don't forget to download Ragini MMS Movie Wallpapers.

Gayle, Taylor resumed playing without medical clearance - WICB

The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has reacted strongly to comments made by Chris Gayle and Jerome Taylor about the lack of communication from the board about their injury and rehabilitation prior to their departure to India to play in the IPL. The WICB stated, in a release, that both players "unilaterally decided to resume playing before being given final clearance from WICB appointed therapists."

Gayle, in an interview with KLAS Sports, a radio station in Jamaica, said the board hadn't checked on his rehabilitation after the World Cup - where he sustained an abdominal muscle strain - and that he was "stunned" when he found out he hadn't been picked for the limited-overs series against Pakistan. Taylor had said the WICB did not contact him about his back injury before he left to play in the IPL, and it only did so on April 7, once he'd arrived in India.

In response, the WICB has released detailed timelines of the two players' rehabilitation and correspondence with the board. In the case of Gayle, the board's timeline notes that between April 17 and 18 this year: "Chris departs for India. Has not had required medical review, nor did he complete rehabilitation program and physiotherapy review as required, neither did he complete fitness testing prior to competition resumption." It also published an exchange of messages between Gayle and West Indies team physio CJ Clark about his fitness during the period March 24-April 8.

With regard to Taylor, the board claimed "he had not kept physiotherapy appointments for weeks prior to his deciding to resume playing." Its timeline notes that as per early April this year, "Jerome departs to India without completion of rehabilitation, medical assessment or approval" after missing a scheduled review with Dr. Akshai Mansingh, part of the WICB medical panel, who had been tracking his progress.

The board also reacted to criticism from Shivnarine Chanderpaul, saying "as a centrally contracted player the Board will address this matter through contractual provisions at the appropriate time."

Sri Lanka Premier League begins July 19

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) have confirmed the dates for the first edition of the Sri Lanka Premier League will be from July 19 to August 4, 2011. The seven provinces will play 24 matches over the 18 days, all of which will be telecast live globally. That suggests a format in which all the teams will play each other once in a league stage, before two semi-finals and a final.

Each team will only be allowed five overseas players in their squad, of which only four can be named in the XI. Several foreign players including Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Shahid Afridi and Herschelle Gibbs have already been signed for the tournament.

SLC also unveiled the team names for the provinces. The seven teams will be: Basnahira Bears, Kandurata Kites, Nagenahira Nagas, Ruhuna Rhinos, Uthura Oryxes, Uva Unicorns and Wayamba Wolves. The board plans to add two more provinces to the tournament within three years.

Muralitharan signs Twenty20 deal with Wellington

Wellington have secured the service of Sri Lanka's champion offspinner Muttiah Muralitharan for next season's domestic Twenty20 tournament. Muralitharan is expected to be available for Wellington for the whole of the competition, after he retired from international cricket at the end of this year's World Cup.

"It is a tremendous boost for Wellington to secure the services of one of the greatest international cricketers of all time," Gavin Larsen, the Wellington chief executive, said. "He is a superb cricketer and a great ambassador for the game. As well as being a huge asset for us he is also very keen to assist us in promoting the game around Wellington."

The Twenty20 competition is expected to run during January, meaning Muralitharan won't be available for Australia's Big Bash. Wellington have never won the Twenty20 title and Muralitharan, who has 1347 international wickets to his name, will be a major boost as they aim to win their first silverware in eight years.

"I've always enjoyed my time in New Zealand and it is a fantastic country to tour and to play cricket in," Muralitharan said. "I look forward to helping the Wellington Firebirds to success."

Selector forecasts 'specialist' squads

Greg Chappell, the Australian selector, has forecast the selection of distinct "specialist" squads for tours of Sri Lanka and South Africa. The size of the task confronting Australia and its new captain Michael Clarke is placed into context by the fact that this is the first time since 1969-70 that the national side has been asked to make back-to-back overseas Test tours without a significant break or home summer in between.

To alleviate the difficulties, Chappell expected a substantial variation in the squads picked for the two series, to help Clarke best adapt his resources to contrasting conditions. As in 1969-70, when the team led by Bill Lawry travelled through India and enjoyed a series victory before venturing to South Africa and being crushed 4-0 in as many Tests, the Australians must make the sharp adjustments from slow subcontinental pitches to fast African tracks. That tour sowed the seeds for Lawry's eventual sacking as captain, a fate Clarke will be keen to avoid.

"If you want to look at it in that light it is [daunting], yes, but if you want to look at it as an opportunity for us to get better, I think it's a great opportunity," Chappell told ESPNcricinfo. "There'll be different challenges on each tour; much like 1969-70 there will be very different conditions on the two parts of the tour so it will be a challenge."

The success of the last Australian tour to South Africa in 2009 may result in a recall for a role-player like the Victorian allrounder Andrew McDonald, who bowled thriftily in partnership with the pace attack during those matches, while in Sri Lanka the spin of Michael Beer, Steve Smith and perhaps Jason Krejza will be employed.

"The good news for this generation is they won't have to go back-to-back from one set of conditions to the other; the Champions League will intervene, so the opportunity will be there to pick specialist groups for the two tours," said Chappell. "Sri Lanka's likely to suit spin bowling, South Africa's likely to suit fast bowling, so the balance of the two groups is likely to be different. It's an opportunity for experienced players and for budding players to gain some great experience and some great learning about what international cricket is about."

Chappell admitted there were few great players immediately available to the Australian team, and suggested the national selectors would have to make the best of it until a new generation, spearheaded by the likes of the teenaged fast bowler Pat Cummins, was ready for national duty.

"If you can find some outstanding matchwinning players, that's great, but if you haven't got them available you do the best you can with the combinations you can put together and that's the challenge for us over the next few years," said Chappell. "We can see we've got some potential champions on the horizon, but it's going to take time for them to get to the point where they're going to be ready to play for Australia, so in the meantime you're looking for the best combinations you can get."

Casting his eye across to India and the coaching role he once held, Chappell said Gary Kirsten's replacement, the former England coach Duncan Fletcher, was as prepared as anyone could be for the role.

"I think it's an interesting appointment; he's a very experienced coach, I think he'll bring a lot to the job," said Chappell. "Coaching at that level is a challenge in any environment, we know how fanatical India is about the game of cricket with the population and the media population, that brings with it different challenges. Duncan's been a proven coach and has experienced India from the other side, so if anyone can be ready for it he'll be as ready as anyone."

Australian Twenty20 teams on the market

Australian cricket is on the "dance floor" of private ownership after Cricket Australia's board opened the way for the part sale of two Twenty20 franchises to outside investors. James Sutherland, the CA chief executive, confirmed the decision following a two-day board meeting at which the pressing issues of the 2011-12 Big Bash League loomed large.

A stalemate between CA and its players over pay issues remains a major stumbling block, and Sutherland could not yet say which of the teams - one each in Sydney and Melbourne - would be put up for sale. Nonetheless, the formal decision to seek private investors, either in Australia or overseas, was highly significant for the game.

There had been whispers of discontent among prospective buyers, some based in India, about financial and team modelling surrounding the sales, but Sutherland said administrators were now confident the move would meet with success. Money derived from the sales, with figures mentioned in the tens of millions, would come back to CA and then be distributed according to the wishes of board directors.

"It's fair to say we wouldn't be making these decisions today if we didn't have a level of comfort or anticipation about that," Sutherland said of the 49% model. "We might be on the dance floor but there are things that need to be put in writing and signed off on in order for those deals to come to fruition and that's really the stage that we're at.

"The board arrived at a decision this was an appropriate step to take bearing in mind the focus we need to have on the launch of the BBL, bearing in mind the levels of interest we are seeing from potential private investors, and just trying to balance all those things. We believe it's appropriate to put our toe in the water."

That toe will be protected by plenty of terms and conditions, designed to prevent the kind of circus atmosphere that prevails in the Indian Premier League. Shane Warne's revelations that he threatened to quit Rajasthan prior to the tournament's first edition unless given full control of team selection will not be mirrored in Australia.

"There's no doubt CA and the state associations are very concious of ensuring control of the game and the teams rests with the respective state associations and that's why the board's resolved to sell to allow private investment of up to 49%," Sutherland said. "That said ultimately it becomes an investment proposition we put to respective buyers, and there will ultimately be some sort of term sheet that a buyer needs to consider. We've got strong ideas on value, and not just in terms of dollars, but also other terms and conditions - there are some things that are not negotiable."

Negotiations on the MOU between the board and the players have proceeded even though neither party has shown an inclination to change its position, but Sutherland said the best chance of resolution lay in the healthy relationship that exists between CA and the Australian Cricketers Association. His optimism will be tempered by the shrinking amount of time left to reach agreements before player contracts expire on June 30.

"My sense having spoken to Paul (Marsh, the ACA chief executive) a number of times over the last couple of weeks is that there is a sense of goodwill on both sides to try to find a way through things and certainly our board is of that mindset," Sutherland said. "How those issues get resolved or unfold is really something that Paul and I and others from our respective teams need to work through, and we will I'm sure.

"I don't really have any firm timeframe, obviously the sooner the better, but I'm confident there's enough goodwill on both sides to find a way through this. We both need each other, we know we need a positive outcome and resolution, we'd like to have Australian players, state players and BBL players contracted as soon as possible."

Jr.NTR Afraid Of Lip Kiss

'Lip Kiss' is the one thing seen most of the times as an unconventional act on Telugu cinema screen. However, there were severe changes in Telugu Cinema and directors along with heroines are coming up regularly with these sensual love making performances.

According to grapevine, Jr.NTR is supposed to kiss the lips of ravishing siren Tamanna in his upcoming flick. Surender Reddy’s OOSARAVELLI looks like the perfect platform for Young Tiger to satisfy the romantic side of his mass fans. But, what hurdles him to the most is his marriage with Lakshmi Pranathi. Just after few days of bidding farewell to his bachelor life, Junior is now most careful about his on-screen acts with heroines, as he don’t want to hurt his wife at any point. Insiders revealed that though there is a plan of Jr's lip locking with Tamanna's pouted ones, the young hero is now quite afraid of his wife LP to make it a reality. Other than dreaming Junior in a lip-lock with Tamanna, we have to just wait for few more months to see actual.

Mass Raja's Take-2 With Balayya

A reported war between Nandamuri Hero Balayya and Mass maharaja Raviteja is said to be existing from years. Though there were no clear cut evidences, many big mouths of Tollywood always confirm this news. Here is a 'take-2' of Raviteja on that invincible conflict.

Long ago there was news that Balayya got serious on Raviteja about his fingering in the casting of a heroine in Balayya's flick. Sources say that now RT is planning to grab 'scripts' fabricated to make flicks with Balayya. 'Bheeshma', a story narrated by publicity designer Ramesh Varma long ago to Balakrishna is now in the hands of Raviteja. Differences between Bellamkonda Suresh and Balayya are perfectly cashed on by Ramesh Varma and Raviteja, say sources. If this is a 'take-2' by Raviteja on Nandamuri Hero, will Balayya remain silent or a 'reaction' responds back, is a tense moment that needs to be waited for!

Pink Heroine's Bikini @ 100% Free!!!

From a couple of weeks, the success of '100% LOVE' and her 'oomph factor' happens to be the 'food' on discussion tables. We are talking about pinkish looking Tamanna, who is back with a bang after a long time.

While young beauty Tamanna is quoting a diamond for her sexposing acts on the screen, this producer is always getting her for free. Reportedly, Tamanna is demanding extra bucks for a lip lock and a few more for a thunder thigh show in bikinis. However, she is doing all those for '100%' free in Ramcharan's upcoming flick RACHHA, say sources. It is heard that Allu Arvind still had Tamanna's dates for one more flick with all those 'toppings' and now transferred them to Super Good films to make her shake a leg with Cherry. What makes most people interested is the agenda in that 'deal', which is making Tamanna to bend her head before producer Allu Arvind.

TFI's Big Hopes On Dil Raju's Trap!

The trap of 'multi starrer' was laid and executed properly on these young heroes to fall in by this big producer. Earlier, mega producer Dil Raju tried in all possible ways to rope in Victory Venkatesh and Powerstar Pavan Kalyan to do one and failed. Here comes his plan-B that worked out.

Apparently, Dil Raju tried to rope those big stars earlier for KOTHA BANGARU LOKAM fame director Srikanth Addala's upcoming flick SEETHAMMA VAAKITLO SIRIMALLI CHETU. However, things never worked out for the young director. After Srikanth, successful director Vamsi Paidipalli (Brindavanam fame) narrated a script that can incorporate two big heroes. Dil Raju cleverly took an initiative of roping two top stars from the same family, where chances of saying no will be particularly very less. Before Charan and Bunny accepted for it, Dil Raju's 'trap' worked out very will yielding positive outcome both for TFI and for people.

After those good olden days of NTR and ANR, there were no multi starrers in Telugu industry between star heroes. So, this flick surely initiates the inspiration to many other star heroes in the industry to make ‘multi starrer’ flicks. These kinds of flicks will have the high chances of recovery even though the film tumbles at BO.

2 yrs after assault, Rihanna and Chris Brown following each other on Twitter

After two years of 'no see no talk' following Chris Brown's assault on his former girlfriend Rihanna, the two pop singers seem to be putting their past behind them.

It has emerged that Rihanna and Brown are following each other on Twitter, reports the Daily Mail.

Rihanna, who has five million Twitter followers, has added Brown to the select group of 384 people she follows.

Shortly after that, Brown logged on to Twitter and followed her as well.

Rihanna and Brown were dating when he beat her up in 2009. The infamous assault happened the night before the Grammy Awards back in 2009.

The attack occurred in Los Angeles' Hancock Park neighbourhood as Chris drove a rented sports car.

While they are only just following each other on the Internet, several websites are already speculating that a reunion could be in store, despite Brown and Rihanna's past troubles. (ANI)

Swinton talks blood, birth and tomatoes in Cannes

Tilda Swinton plumbs the depths of grief and despair for her role as a mother whose 15-year-old son commits a school massacre. But the scariest moment making "We Need to Talk About Kevin" involved being pelted with rotten tomatoes in an unruly mob.

The film's arresting opening scene shows Swinton's character, a travel writer, in a sea of red goo and writhing bodies at the Tomatina festival in Spain. Director Lynne Ramsay had Swinton plunge into the melee, in which tens of thousands converge on the town of Bunol for a messy food fight.

The scene is vivid, exhilarating, overwhelming and frightening — rather like the film's depiction of parenthood.

"It was really, really intense," Swinton told The Associated Press at the Cannes Film Festival, where "Kevin" is an early favorite to take prizes. "It's not the kind of thing where you can say, 'We have to do it again.'

"Every time I see the images I can smell the mixture, not only rancid tomatoes and beer — and probably a fair amount of (urine) as well, because people have been standing there since 7 o'clock in the morning — but testosterone. It's just testosterone.

"The film was always going to be incomplete until we had that testosterone in it," she said.

Testosterone is a key but volatile element in a movie that explores male violence from a woman's point of view. Based on the best-selling novel by female writer Lionel Shriver, it shows Eva struggling to understand her son's crime, for which she feels responsible.

Those seeking a romantic view of motherhood should look elsewhere. In Swinton's intense performance, Eva is numb, hollowed out by grief. In flashbacks, she is angry, resentful and overwhelmed, uncomfortable from the start with her sullen, difficult son.

While critics have praised the film — the Times of London called it "earth-shattering" — its depiction of motherhood made some viewers uncomfortable.

Swinton says the film hits a nerve because it tackles a taboo — the admission that child-rearing is a rough business.

"I remember very soon after giving birth realizing that my imagination had taken on a kind of brutal capacity that it had never had before," said Swinton, the mother of teenage twins. "Pregnancy is brutal as it is, but there is something about the experience of childbirth that stretches in every sense your imaginary capacity for brutality.

"And I don't think you ever go back. There is a sort of innocence you lose. You get sort of blooded, literally. When I read the book, it spoke to that, and I was so grateful.

"I've made it my business ever since to say to expectant parents: it's going to be a nightmare. And it's going to be wonderful, and you're never going to regret it, but it's going to be a nightmare. Amazingly, very few people seem to say this."

Swinton, 50, has never been afraid of going her own way. She began her career in the 1980s in experimental films by directors like Derek Jarman and Sally Potter — who had her play a time-traveling, gender-switching aristocrat in 1992's "Orlando" — and has had a rewardingly unpredictable career in cinema.

She can do mainstream fare — and won a supporting-actress Academy Award for 2007's "Michael Clayton" — but has never abandoned her experimental roots.

She once slept in a glass case in a gallery for a week as part of an art installation. In 2009, she and a group of people pulled a 34-ton truck through the Scottish Highlands for a portable film festival, and last year she won raves for her Italian-language performance as an affluent but unfulfilled housewife in "I Am Love."

"Kevin" is the hit of the first week at Cannes, and many see Swinton as a contender for the festival's best-actress prize — and even another Oscar nomination.

In Cannes, she seems both completely at home and slightly alien, her pale, luminous skin all the more striking amid the Riviera tans.

She laughs when asked if she is excited at the thought of "Kevin" winning awards from the Cannes jury headed by Robert De Niro.

"What, whether we might win a raffle? It is a raffle. I have been on too many juries to take it any other way.

"Juries have this rather strange task of giving prizes, but that's never the most important thing. In my experience you go to see a lot of films and have fantastic conversations with people, and then there's this noxious process where you have to choose."

Azerbaijan wins Eurovision Song Contest

A mother of two and an international relations student from Azerbaijan beat out the much-hyped Irish twins and 23 other finalists Saturday to secure their nation's first-ever win in the Eurovision Song Contest.

Nigar Jamal and Eldar Gasimov, who go by the name Ell/Nikki, won 220 points for their classic pop ballad with a catchy refrain, "Running Scared," meaning next year's songfest will be hosted in Baku.

"I'm the happiest man in the world right now," Gasimov, 22, shouted to the crowd of 36,000 who packed the Fortuna Duesseldorf Arena to watch the show.

In the past three years, Azerbaijan has finished in the first 10 at the songfest, but have never before reached the top.

"Its unbelievable our dream came true," Jamal, 30, said after winning the title.

"I've never been a singer before, I was a housewife, a mother of two children," she said. "It was my dream to become a singer and now my dream has come true."

The pair, clad in a white suit and a floaty white gown, were awarded the trophy from Germany's 19-year-old Lena Meyer-Landruth, who had sought to make history by defending her title for a second consecutive year in a row. She finished 10th with the sultry "Taken By A Stranger."

Second place went to Italy — back in competition after a 14-year hiatus — with 189 points for Raphael Gualazzi for his jazz number "Madness of Love." Close behind him in third place was Sweden's Eric Saade, singing the dance pop song "Popular," with 185 points.

Azerbaijan had been among the entries favored to win heading into the competition, but other favorites, including the much-hyped Irish duo Jedward, nor the British bookies' top pick, French tenor Amaury Vassili, came in among the top 10 finishers.

Several entries held up the competition's reputation for quirky, kitschy costumes, with the boys from Jedward wearing sparkling red space jackets and spiky quiffed hairdos and Moldova's punk rock entry taking the stage sporting tall, conical caps and featuring a woman on a unicycle.

More than 120 million viewers around the globe tune in to watch the spectacle that has taken place every year since 1951. Organizers said the production cost euro12 million ($17 million).

Viewers in the 43 participating nations cast votes by SMS or phone which counted for 50 percent of the contestants' final score. The other 50 percent had been determined by panels of juries selected by each nation.

Two rounds of semifinals held earlier in the week whittled the competitors down to 25 finalists who took to the stage Saturday for an extravagant sound-and-light display.

Liz Hurley's telly hopes dashed after 'Wonder Woman' gets the axe

Elizabeth Hurley's villainous role in the new 'Wonder Woman' TV pilot is now something the world, presumably, will never see.

US channel NBC has officially given the high-booted project the boot, after the pilot - which Liz had spent months filming - got the thumbs-down from test audiences, reports the Sun.

The model, 45, was set to play the superheroine's nemesis Veronica Cale.

David E. Kelley had penned a script that updated the comic book classic to have the heroine as a hard-headed businesswoman by day and a baddie botherer by night.

However, U.S. industry magazine Entertainment Weekly says that the show's completed pilot garnered mixed reviews at test screenings.

It also reports that there were concerns about the character's updated superhero costume, which had lost the Stars And Stripes and amped up the Greek goddess instead.

Apparently, the wardrobe department even redesigned the gear, but the revamp still didn't cut the mustard with studio bosses.

Hurley recently revealed she was part of the show by posting on Twitter when she first got the role: 'Thrilled to be doing the NBC pilot Wonder Woman'.

She added that she will be playing the lead character's nemesis saying: 'I'll be playing the evil villain. Can't wait'. (ANI)

Rajniesh Duggal gets animated for a song in ‘Main Krishna Hoon.’ Yes, the actor has shot a cameo for ‘Dahi handi…’ song for this movie that is directed by Rajiv Ruia. Not just that, Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif and Juhi Chawla have also done cameo roles in this film.

The reason Rajniesh shot for the cameo is that he has been a Krishna devotee all his life and didn’t want to miss a chance of worshipping him in his own way and besides that doing a song choreographed by none other than Ganesh Acharya doesn’t come by everyday.

The song sequence is choreographed by dance master cum film maker Ganesh Acharya. The movie is a 3D animation – cum – live action project being made especially for kids and has been produced by Nandan Matho who in the past has produced a few Bhojpuri films.

Saif plays a dalit, angers few

Dalit group members seem to be angry at director Prakash Jha for casting Saif Ali Khan as a member of a backward cast.

Sources say that a certain dalit group in Kanpur is upset with Prakash Jha casting Saif as a dalit in their forthcoming project, ‘Aarakshan.’ The movie deals with reservation issues.

A dalit also sent a letter of protest to Prakash Jha to his Pune office, claiming that a blue blood like Saif Ali Khan donning the role of a dalit is an insult to their community. The letter also threatens Jha of ‘serious repercussions’ if he doesn’t explain why he chose to cast Saif for the role.

In response to this, Jha says, “Yes, we have received a letter. My people are looking into it. We have not filed any complaint yet. It does not seem to be a registered organization.” Jha, who has always tried to bring to fore the plight of political and developmental initiatives in Bihar through his films, says that he cannot fathom the organization’s problem.

“Dalit groups should be happy that we are making a film about reservation. I can’t understand why anybody should be offended if Saif, hailing from a royal family, is cast as a Dalit. As directors, we cast actors who we think are suitable for the role. I thought Saif would be right for the part, so I cast him” he says.

Well, we just hope the problem is solved mutually, and the project goes on floor soon.

My wish has come true: Vijay

Vijay was one among the early birds who called on AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa on Friday, even as her party was heading for a massive win in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

The actor, who supported the AIADMK-alliance in the polls, had a few minutes’ exchange with her. The ‘Ilaya Thalapathi’ was accompanied by his father and popular filmmaker S A Chandrasekar.

Speaking to reporters later, Vijay said, “I was really hoping for a change. And it has happened now. This is a much needed change and the scale of victory is amazing. People have expressed themselves in a big way.”

Expressing gratitude to the members of his Vijay Makkal Iyakkam who had worked for the AIADMK-led alliance, the actor said, “Respecting my request, they worked extremely hard. I thank them sincerely.”

Rajini’s daughters meet Jaya

Superstar Rajinikanth and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa share one thing in common. Both are residents of Poes Garden, one of the posh residential localities in the city of Chennai.

So when his neighbour was heading towards a historic win in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections on Friday, the top actor could not resist himself from congratulating her and wishing her all the best.

With doctors advising him rest for two weeks (please note that the Superstar was in a hospital recently), his daughters Aishwarya Dhanush and Soundarya Ashwin met Jayalalithaa on their father’s behalf.

They presented a boquet to the Chief Minister-in-waiting and conveyed her the congratulatory message of their father. Jayalalithaa enquired about the Superstar’s health condition with Aishwarya and Soundarya and wished him a speedy recovery, we learn.

Kajal shows red signal to Maheshbabu

There was news in the media that Maheshbabu had sought Kajal as heroine opposite him for his next film ‘Business Man’ to be directed by Puri Jagannath.

However, the heroine is not in a mood to pair up with the Prince and reportedly told the director that she is not interested to play opposite him.

It is worth mentioning here that Maheshbabu took almost three years to complete ‘Khaleja’ after a disaster like ‘Atithi’. That film was turned a big dud. After that, he signed up for ‘Dookudu’ under the direction of Sreenu Vaitla. That film also took a long time to complete its shooting.

There might be several reasons for the delay like strike in Tollywood and Maheshbabu showing more interest on Ad promos shooting for the delay of the film. But the fact is that Maheshbabu is taking more time to complete a film.

Kajal doesn’t want to waste time as she is in her hay days and wanted to do more films while her career is running bright. It is learnt that this is the reason for Kajal’s aversion to play opposite Maheshbabu.

She doesn’t want to repent like Anushka and Samantha and made it clear that she is not interested in his combination.

Rajamouli faces tough time with his experimental film

Among all the directors of the present generation, the most successful director is SS Rajamouli. Almost all his films were successful. While some are blockbusters, some remained hits and at the most they run at above average level so far.

Now, this talented director is experimenting with a film titled ‘Eega’ with live and animated characters. Nani and Samantha are playing the lead roles and Kannada artiste Sudeep is playing a negative role.

It is learnt that a special Scorpio crane was summoned exclusively for the shooting of the film.

Presently the technical crew was shooting some difficult scenes in the film involving he animated character, the housefly. It is a surprise that Rajamouli, while penning the script, pre-visualises the scene, but when it comes to the actual shooting, he found it very difficult to mould the celluloid with what was in his mind.

In fact, such films would have more appeal if they were shot in 3D or 2D format. But the budget constraints forced him to restrict it to a regular format.

The film is being made as a bilingual with the Telugu and Tamil versions being shot simultaneously with Senthil wielding the camera and Keeravani scoring music for the flick.

Hansika mobbed by fans

Chubby heroine Hansika Motwani surely knows how to stay in news. She apparently went to Sathyam Cinemas in Chennai to watch her film 'Engeyum Kaadal'. Audience who recognised her instantly mobbed her. Hansika says she is overwhelmed with joy for their love and fanhood.

"I was shooting for my film 'Oru Kaal Kannadi' in Sathyam Cinemas. I thought I will sneak into the theatre which is screening my film and I was surprised to see audience respond towards my presence. I am born and brought up in Mumbai and I never expected so much love from audience in this part of the country. I turned emotional at their love and had tears rolling in my eyes. My responsibility towards my films increased to 200% now." Hansika said.

Hansika is currently doing 'Kandireega' with Ram and she also has 'Oh My Friend' with Siddharth in Telugu. She has 'Velayudham' and 'Oru Kaal Kannadi' in Tamil. She took a break for a while and is now desperately looking for a big break in film industry.

Megastar praised my work: Prabhas

Young rebel star Prabhas is super happy these days. It is partly because of the box office success of Mr Perfect and also because Mega Star Chiranjeeevi himself called Prabhas to congratulate him. Apparently even Allu Arjun sent flowers to Prabhas after watching Mr.Perfect.

"I am happy for good collections and rave reviews for Mr Perfect. But what is more touching is Allu Arjun watched the film with his wife Sneha Reddy and then sent me flowers appreciating my work. He told me that he wept while watching a few emotional scenes in the movie. Even Mega Star Chiranjeevi called me and congratulated me for acting in this film. He told me that he too saw the film and asked me to publicize the movie enough. This is the best compliment I ever got" Prabhas told media personnel this week.

Prabhas's Mr.Perfect has been declared this Summer's biggest hit. He is now all set to start shooting for 'Rebel' with Larencce as the director. Once that movie is complete, he will start shooting for a period film with S S Rajamouli as the director.

Vishnu Manchu to be dad soon

Actor Manchu Vishnuvardhan Babu is going to be dad soon. Sources close to the Mohanbabu family confirmed this news. Vishnu is married to Viranica Reddy, the niece of former Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. The two tied knots two years ago.

Vishnu and Viranica are believed to have gone to USA in March and the news of Viranica's pregnancy got confirmed there. Vishnu supposedly overstayed in US to be with his wife. Celebrations galore at Mohanbabu family as this is the first grandchild in the family.

"Mohanbabu is very happy that he is going to be a grandfather soon. Though there were rumours before about Vishnu becoming dad, this time it is a confirmed news" our source says. Viranica will deliver the child in November this year.

Vishnu now joins the club of celeb fathers in Tollywood after Mahesh Babu.

Badrinath banks on Tamanna's 'hyperbola'

Now a female midriff region is called hyperbola, thanks to Sukumar's mathematical brain! In 100% Love he described Tamanna's waist line with a hyperbola and it became the buzz word for Telugu youth. Tamanna who had flaunted her hyperbola in few scenes in 100% Love, is gearing up for more fun in Badrinath.

Director VV Vinayak has concentrated too much on that 'region' and Badrinath promos and photos too are carrying Tamanna's hot pics and videos. If nothing goes well for Badrinath, the makers hope that the hyperbola hypes the film to take it to next level. Tamanna has done two steamy songs in this film in which she has liberally flaunted her curves.

Badrinath is an out and out action masala flick stresses its makers. They don't want it to be compared with Magadheera. Instead they are asking to draw comparisons with Indra, which was a full to commercial entertainer.

Nagarjuna agrees Naga Chaitanya's inability

When an actress dominates the show and gets all the brownie points in a film which has equal importance to both the hero and heroine, it is certainly the failure of so and so hero. Naga Chaitanya who failed to impress his family members better than Jessie, Samantha in Ye Maya Chesave has once again let them down with 100% Love.

During YMC success meet ANR said that he would give 51 marks to Samantha and 49 to Chaitanya in terms of performance. Now it is Nagarjuna’s turn to put his son below the heroine on score sheet. Nagarjuna agreed that Tamanna acted better than Chaitanya in 100% Love. Although he said that he is happy with Chaitu’s performance, the above statement itself tells how much he is satisfied with his son’s efforts.

After three films, Naga Chaitanya is still raw in expressions and weak on emotions. He can’t dance with ease and couldn’t look like a macho man in action scenes. It is high time for Naga Chaitanya to break the jinx and prove himself a better hero. For that he has to prove better actor than Kajal Agarwal in his next film. Ouch… that is definitely a mountain to climb.

Allari Naresh sucks her lips

Comedy hero Allari Naresh is slowly but surely turning out to be a romantic-comedy hero. In his latest film Seema Tapakai, Naresh planted a kiss on Poorna’s lips for which the naughty audiences responded with catcalls. That lip lock or call it lip-peck is not needed in that scene. Usually such kisses are shot in a suggestive manner.

However, Allari Naresh deliberately kissed Poorna's lips by facing the camera. This shows that he is looking for something more than a comedy hero image. There were rumors about Naresh’s off screen romantic tales and now he is slowly bringing that image on to screen.

Naresh's chemistry with Poorna is awesome in Seema Tapakai, suggesting that there is a good rapport between them off the screen. Looks like Naresh is ready for the remake of his father's adult comedy Chilakkottudu.

Ileana in deep depression

Hour glass beauty Ileana has been running through rough time in her career at the moment. She lost her top spot in Tollywood with a series of utter flop films and also is on the brink of an exit from Telugu cinema. Added to her failures controversies started to haunt Ileana. She was pointed out as an unprofessional actress by Aswini Dutt.

Later she was dragged to Kollywood producer's council for not repaying the advance amount taken from producer called Nataraj. Ileana has to pay Rs. 35 lakh to avoid ban in Kollywood. With all these problems surrounding at a time, Ileana went into a depressed state, says the gossip
zones.

Doctors advised her to take rest for few weeks to come out of the depression it seems. At the moment, Ileana is trying her best to keep her mind away from all these controversies and failures. Hope she bounces back with vengeance.

Allari Naresh Doubles Remuneration

The success of his latest flick SEEMA TAPAKAAI, has taken him to a new place where an investment on him is always a 'golden goose'. We are talking about Allari Naresh, the 'golden light' for producers who don't want to loose money at any cost.

With his timed comedy and acting antics, Allari Naresh always made the audience feel something special about him. Other than some few experimental and sentimental flicks, all his comic movies are well received by the audience. With this recent hit, Allari Naresh has quickly learned the fact that he should cash on his success and doubled his remuneration as per sources. The tall young man is said to be quoting around 80 lakhs to 1.5 crore depending on the budget of the movie and the overall star-cast. However, industry sources stated that paying Allari Naresh with such high ransom is definitely a worthy thing, rather than investing a gallop on big heroes. Way to go Naresh!

Comedy - Producer's Blame Game Started

After producing a couple of huge budgeted flicks, comedian turned producer Ganesh Babu is shouting loud about the failure of his star studded flick. TEEN MAAR is not received by the audience in a good tone, despite of its positive talk in the initial days of release. Listen to this 'biggest' comedy of the year.

Tasting a couple of flops has never changed the mind of Ganesh Babu it seems as he is gearing ahead to produce another movie with Pavan Kalyan in the lead. Though some say it is his love for cinema, most are saying that the 'income source' he has is a 'tinder box' that can dump unlimited money without caring for a loss. However, when questioned about the failure of TEEN MAAR, Ganesh quoted 'Telugu audiences are yet to mature, they need to know how to look positively at the contemporary situations and understand the intentions of the makers'. Film critics responded saying that Ganesh should learn how to make films that contain a magical spell on audience. If you look closely, the essence of love showed in LOVE AAJ KAL is truly missing in TEEN MAAR and Ganesh Babu should stop blaming for atleast a 'hit' sake.

Rangam Movie Review

Jeeva who is more known to Telugu audience as son of R B Choudary than the hero of movies like Dishyum Dishyum, E has tried his luck in Telugu once again through the movie Rangam which was released this week. Super good films presented the movie and RS Infotainments has produced the movie and rangam is directed by K V Anand. Karitka daughter of Radha has acted as the female lead in the movie ,Priya Bajpayee, Prakash Raj Kota Srinivas Rao have acted in the movie and music is by Harris jay Raj . Richard M Nathan did the cinematography for the movie Rangam was already released in Tamil and was a super hit there and was dubbed in Telugu lets check the review of Rangam.

Story:

Ashvad( Jeeva) is a photographer for a newspaper called Neti Patrika and he always gives sensational news for the paper and increases its circulation.IN this course he gives a sensatinol news about a politician who plans to marry a minor girl and puts him behind the bars and he loves one of his fellow reporter Priya(Karteeka) refusing the love of another reporter Saro(Priya bajpai),and ashvad also puts the Chief Minister played by Prakash Raj culprit before the public and at the same time a young leader establishes a party Yuva Rajyam and participates in the election and Asvad encourages Vasanth the young leader by giving good reports against him in the paper in the due course a bomb blast happens at the meeting of vasanth and 30 members along with saro gets killed in it and people make vasanth Chief minister and after this Ashvad comes to know that saro was not killed accidentally and she was murdered and from here the movie takes twists and turns and ends up in a meaning full way.

Analysis:

Rangam to say in one line is that Media and Press can build up a government or even slash it to ground if needed , is the director basic point , Anand who is a photographer by profession included his own life incidents in the movie but the cause shown for youth to come into politics is a bit away from reality but since movie is just a creative piece his attempt should be appreciated and the way he ended the movie is also very good cinematography, editing are very good and fights by Peter Hiens and Dances by Brunda Master are good and music by harris jay raj is very good to her and its a pleasure to watch them on the screen also.

Jeeva acted very well he involved in the character of ashvad he showed his ease in fights, dances and entertained the audience karteeka who was not seen after josh movie made a come back with a good character in the movie but she needs some more improvisation in acting,Prakash raj and Kota Srinivas Rao were as usual best and Ajmal who acted in the role Vasanth scored good marks as an artist.

Plus Points:

- Direction is the plus point of the movie
- High technical values
- Harris jay raj music especially nemali nadakalu song is very giid

Minus Points:

- Routine story
- Lack of comedy

Final Word:

We have to wait and see whether rangam clicks at the box office because of the typical formula and star image mind set of the Telugu audience which need to be changed Rangam though very has to wait and see for the result because no matter how good the film is collections decides whether its hit or not.

Seema Tapakai Movie Review

Movie : Seema Tapakai
Rating: 3/5
Cast : Allari Naresh, Poorna, Sayaji Shinde, Nagineedu, Jayaprakash Reddy, Ravu Ramesh, Vennela Kishore, Brahmanandam, M S Narayana, L B Sriram, Sudha, Surekha Vani, Ravi, Jeeva, Apurva and others
Directed by : G Nageshwar Reddy
Produced by : Malla Vijay Prasad
Banner : Wellfare Creations
Music : Vandemataram Srinivas
Release Date : 2011-05-13

Story :

Krishna (Naresh) is a pampered son from a rich family who takes life as it comes. He comes across Satya (Poorna) and it is love at first sight for him. However, Satya hates rich people as she feels they don’t do anything for the poor. Krishna discovers this and pretends to be from a poor family. He also asks his family members (Sayaji, Sudha, Surekha Vani, Ravi and others) to do the same. Satya also falls in love with Krishna and when things look alright, she is taken away by factionists. In comes Nagineedu (Nagineedu) the powerful and fearsome factionist from Seema area. Who is he? What does Satya do when she discovers Krishna’s true identity? All this forms the rest of the story.

Artist performances :

Allari Naresh has given an expected performance and there are places where he shows his flashes of brilliance. Poorna looks alright but she has a strong sex appeal which is revealed in the songs. Sayaji Shinde was funny, Nagineedu was classy, Ravu Ramesh was not used to his potential, Vennela Kishore was okay, Sudha was standard, Brahmanandam was brief, M S Narayana was moderate, L B Sriram was usual, Jayaprakash Reddy was regular. The others did their bit as required and added value to the film.

Plus points :

* Allari Naresh’s comedy and imitating celebrities
* Poorna’s visual feast in songs
* Theme of the film
* Pace

Minus points :

* Not enough comedy quotient
* Predictable and stereotype second half
* Abrupt editing
* Technical flaws

Analysis :

The film is meant for those who believe in two plus hours of time-pass entertainment with not much logic. While the first half fulfils that requirement, the second half gets a bit melodramatic due to sentiments and emotional scenes but then they will strike a chord with the family audience. This may not be upto the level of ‘Blade Babji’ ‘Bendu Apparao’ but then it has enough ingredients to take it to a profit zone at the box office. As such, given Allari Naresh’s crowd pulling factor and the holiday season along with no other release, the film is bound to do well.

TCS appoints Vandrevala as MD, VC of UK subsidiary

IT firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) today said it has appointed Phiroz Vandrevala as the Managing Director and Vice Chairman of its UK subsidiary, Diligenta.

Vandrevala, Executive Director of the company, will take over as the Managing Director (MD) and Vice-Chairman (VC) of Diligenta with immediate effect, TCS said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange .

Pursuant to this move, Vandrevala would cease to be the Executive Director of TCS.

However, the board of directors has appointed Vandrevala as an Additional Director of the TCS in non-independent and non-executive capacity with immediate effect, it added.

Diligenta was established in 2005 to specialise in the provision of business process outsourcing (BPO) services for the UK Life and Pensions industry.

Diligenta entered the UK Life and Pensions marketplace in 2006 by securing a 486 million pounds deal with the Phoenix Group (formerly known as the Pearl Group), making it the second largest firm in the UK to service this sector.

Sarah Ramos to star in indie film "Predisposed"

Sarah Ramos, one of the stars of the TV series "Parenthood," will be indisposed for part of her hiatus with indie movie "Predisposed."

Ramos will star with Jesse Eisenberg, Melissa Leo and Tracy Morgan in filmmaker Phil Dorling's drama.

The movie focuses on a drug addict mother (Leo) and her piano prodigy son (Eisenberg), as she prepares to enter rehab and he into Juilliard. Ramos will play the girl who garners the affections of Eisenberg's character. (Morgan is playing a hapless drug dealer named Sprinkles.)

The movie is due to start shooting next month in New York City.

Ramos is best known for playing Haddie Braverman, the daughter of Monica Potter and Peter Krause in "Parenthood." The show just got picked up for a third season on U.S. network NBC.
